Overview

Gray AES is looking to add a Sr. Model and Simulation Engineer to its Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, Charlotte, NC, Cincinnati, OH, Dallas, TX, Lexington, KY, Louisville, KY or St. Louis, MO office!

Who we want… (Requirements)

 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience in modeling, simulation, or process design.

Seven years of hands-on experience in developing simulations, digital twins, or industrial modeling applications, and 2-3 years in leading modeling/simulation projects is preferred.

 

Proficiency with tools like Emulate3D, AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks, along with programming expertise in object-oriented languages such as C# or Python and PLC code development, is essential.

A strong understanding of material handling systems, including AGVs, AMRs, industrial robotics, and automation, is highly desirable.

Qualifications

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative models and simulations for production systems.
  • Lead modeling projects and process, from gathering of inputs through the delivery, in order to meet deadlines of design development meetings or milestone reviews
  • Facilitate and lead strong cross-functional communication amongst all engineering/project team disciplines to effectively model a design or existing process.
  • Participate/Lead in project schedules, design reviews, and cross-functional coordination to align with customer requirements.
  • Act as a technical resource throughout all project phases, including requirements gathering, design, and on-site implementation.
  • Deliver detailed modeling and emulation reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Emulate3D or other discrete even simulation tools
  • Proficient with object-oriented programming, such as C# or Python
  • Familiarity with PLC code development
  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D modeling tools, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or Solidworks.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in all design outputs, ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards.
  • Establishing trust and maintaining team relationships are key responsibilities of this role.
  • Support business development through technical presentations and attendance at industry events.

Generally, normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Overtime may be required.

 

Travel (approximately 15%) is required, varying with project phases and customer engagement needs.
