Overview

Gray AES is looking to add an Intern- Process Engineering to its team for Summer 2026, with the position to based in either Lexington, KY, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.

An Process Engineering Intern would work in one of our offices in our Process Engineering group. . Gray is a design — build company, which will certainly be a unique experience to be able to see the Process construction packages go from design to completion! Our environment is fast-paced, safety focused, with a work-hard, play-hard mentality. Our internship program dates back almost 20 years! Former interns now include Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, Sr. Project Managers, Business Development Managers, Design Managers, and the list goes on and on! Qualifications

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

  • Facilitate strong cross-functional relationships amongst all engineering and project team disciplines.
  • Serve as process engineering technical lead on complex, fully integrated projects of various sizes.
  • Leads and completes process systems design and integration development tasks including detailed mass & energy balance, BFD/PFD/P&ID drawings, equipment lists, utility demand matrices, equipment layouts, equipment and process system 3D model coordination, procurement specifications/approvals, etc.
  • Provides input to several tasks for estimating and supporting the development of the scope of work. Ability to generate an entire estimate for specific tasks and small proposal within their area of expertise.
  • Recognized as a go-to team member for technical/operations strategies and application.
  • Results impact project/program completion
  • Facilitate strong cross-functional relationships amongst all engineering and project team disciplines.
  • Owning and supporting site-related activities.
